1989 Daimler DS420 Limousine
The Story
The DS420 was designed for official use and it was popular with chauffeur services and royalty. It was used as an official state car in many countries. No other limousine model has been delivered to more reigning monarchs than the DS420. The car is still used by the royal houses of the United Kingdom, Sweden, Denmark, and Luxembourg.
This 1989 DS420 is beautifully appointed, it was used by the government to transport Queen Elizabeth II on her 50th Anniversary New Zealand Tour in 1990. The handmade body shell is finished in Jet Black and features a gold pinstripe, tinted glass and rolls on wide whitewall tires with chrome wheels. It was later acquired by an American DS 420 collector in 2009 from the New Zealand Department of Internal Affairs.
