1958 Corvette Convertible
Zora Duntov Mark of Excellence Recipient
The Story
The 1958 Corvette led the way into the new era of chrome, dual headlights and prominent grilles that others followed.
In 1958, Chevrolet decided to keep up with the times by changing the styling of the 1st-Generation Corvette completely. As an era of Chrome and dual headlights was set in motion, the Corvette followed right along. The 1958 model year and the four that followed all had the exposed four-headlight treatment and striking chrome-toothed grilles, but a faux-louvered hood and chrome trunk spears were unique to the '58s. The interior and instrumentation were updated to reflect a late-'50s futurist style with sweeping lines and arching gauges.
This Corvette has a matching-numbers, fuel injected 283/290 HP V8 engine and T10 4-speed manual transmission. It is Bloomington Gold Certified, a multiple-time NCRS Top-Flight winner and a Zora Duntov Mark of Excellence recipient.
